Representative La Ha’s Latest: Rate hike proposed for Illinois American Water customers

Rep. Nicole La Ha responds to Illinois American Water’s proposed Rate Hike

With affordability at top of mind for 82nd District residents, families and those on fixed incomes cannot afford another big increase in their water service.

While everyone wants safe and reliable drinking water, I join local community leaders who oppose this rate hike and would encourage ratepayers to express their input to the Illinois Commerce Commission, who will be conducting hearings and taking ratepayer input before acting on this rate hike proposal.

I will keep you informed about opportunities to have your voice heard by this commission, appointed by the Governor.”

$385,500 in funding announced for Sacajawea Park in Village of Indian Head Park

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources recently announced $385,500 in Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant Funding to the Village of Indian Head Park for improvements to Sacajawea Park.

“I appreciate the OSLAD funding for this important project to continue to invest in quality of life for area families,” said Rep. La Ha. “Indian Head Park residents have a great resource in Sacajawea Park and this investment to redevelop Kelli’s Playground will add to even more families’ enjoyment of this local gem.”

Please take my 2026 Survey

I am asking 82nd District constituents to please fill out my online legislative survey or return the direct-mail survey sent to households throughout the area earlier this month

This survey allows residents to share their thoughts, feelings, and opinions in an accessible online format. The survey is open to anyone in the 82nd District and is a great way for those interested to engage with their representative.

“Each survey response helps me focus on your priorities,” Rep. Nicole La Ha said. “I am honored to serve as your voice in Springfield, and hope to hear from you.”

Rep. La Ha hosts “Valentines for Veterans” Card Drive

“This Valentine’s Day, we have a chance to do something small that can make a big impact,” said Rep. La Ha. “Our veterans deserve to know they’re remembered, valued, and appreciated for their service. These cards are a simple but meaningful way to show we care. Together, let’s make this Valentine’s Day a special one for the heroes among us”

Anyone can participate by creating a card and dropping it off at Rep. La Ha’s district office, located at 12271 Walker Road in Lemont. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All cards must be received by February 13 so Rep. La Ha can personally deliver them to local veterans on Valentine’s Day.
