What Are Your Thanksgiving Favorites?

Every year, when my dad starts preparing his famous broccoli cheese casserole, the whole house takes on a familiar warmth. He’s a retired chef, so the food is incredible. But what stays with me most is the moment our family gathers in the same space, slows down, and remembers what truly matters. Thanksgiving holds a special place in my heart because it brings unity, stories, and a sense of home that can’t be rushed.

In a world that rarely stops moving, this day gives us a chance to breathe. We pull up chairs, pass dishes, share memories, and pay attention to the people who have walked through life with us. Gratitude fills the room. It shapes how we see one another, how we care for our neighbors, and how we look at the year still ahead of us.

I’d love to hear your Thanksgiving favorites too, not only the dishes, but the moments and traditions that remind you of what you treasure most. My hope is that this season brings your home peace, connection, and a renewed sense of thankfulness.

Wishing you and your family a beautiful Thanksgiving!

I am so proud to celebrate Lemont High School senior Kinga Strzalka, who recently achieved a perfect score of 36 on the ACT, an accomplishment earned by less than two-tenths of one percent of students nationwide. Kinga is just the ninth student in Lemont High School history to reach this milestone, and the first since 2023.

Kinga’s dedication and achievements are an inspiration to our community, and I congratulate her on this remarkable accomplishment!
