Grants Given to Local Libraries

Thanks to the Secretary of State’s Public Library Per Capita Grants, three libraries in our district will receive funding to help expand access to books, resources, and services. These grants support libraries in meeting statewide standards so they can better serve people of all ages and backgrounds.

This year’s funding will help libraries across Illinois continue their incredible work, and right here at home, the impact is real:

Indian Prairie Public Library (Darien) – $64,740.70

Lemont Public Library – $34,193.45

Thomas Ford Memorial Library (Western Springs) – $20,102.78

That’s more than $119,000 invested directly into our communities, strengthening the spaces where kids discover their favorite stories, students find a quiet place to study, and neighbors come together to learn and connect.

Thank you to our library staff for all you do, and to the Secretary of State’s office and Illinois State Library team for supporting this essential work.
