Rep. La Ha comments on Governor’s State of the State and Budget Address

Rep. Nicole La Ha gave the following statement after the conclusion of Governor Pritzker’s combined State of the State and Budget Address today in Springfield:
“Illinois’ budget has grown by over 40% since Governor JB Pritzker took office; that right there should worry taxpayers,” Rep. La Ha said. “This years’ budget address is a proposal contingent on tax hikes, restricts local government funding, and shows no shared sacrifice from politicians who are still supporting pay raises for themselves instead of making responsible cuts to prevent tax hikes. The Governor’s budget proposal fails to address Illinois’ longstanding property tax crisis, fails to fix the PUNS program under DHS (a program that has been failing disabled residents for over a decade), and refuses to address the reasons why people are leaving Illinois.”
Rep. La Ha is committed to working toward a balanced budget that strengthens our economy and ensures the responsible use of taxpayer dollars. That means evaluating spending priorities, improving efficiencies within state agencies, holding the lines on tax hikes and making decisions that will lead to long-term stability. Illinois families deserve a government that is thoughtful and accountable in its approach to budgeting, one that seeks real solutions without defaulting to tax hikes or short-term fixes.
Nicole La Ha speaks with General Federation of Women’s Clubs in Springfield

Rep. Nicole La Ha was excited to be invited to speak to the amazing ladies of GFWC Illinois on February 25, 2026. As a former member of the Homer Glen Junior Woman’s Club, Rep. La Ha has seen firsthand the heart these ladies have to serve.
Rep. La Ha is thrilled to be carrying House Bill 4654, a bill inspired by GFWC to help stop human trafficking. Rep. La Ha thanked the GFWC members for their service to their communities.
La Ha works to being “Dignity in Pay” improvements

State Representative Nicole La Ha is continuing her work to bring needed improvements to “Dignity in Pay” programs to benefit disabled individuals who are employed in community workshop or other 14c certificate programs.
“Individuals with disabilities want to be fully integrated stakeholders in our economy, and our local communities certainly benefit when everyone is involved in our community,” said Representative Nicole La Ha, herself the mother of a child who lives with disability. “It is incredibly important that the State of Illinois keep its promise made to individuals living with disabilities and fully fund Dignity in Pay Grants to providers.”
