Rep. La Ha Celebrates Blue Ribbon School LeGrange Highlands Elementary

State Representative Nicole La Ha recently visited LeGrange Highlands Elementary School to celebrate their earning the recognition of being a 2025 Governor’s Blue Ribbon School. Following the visit, she released the following statement:

“I was honored to be invited to speak at LaGrange Highlands Elementary School today to help celebrate being chosen a 2025 Governor’s Blue Ribbon School.

Only 28 schools across Illinois earned this honor this year, and Highlands is one of THREE in District 82! There are thousands of schools in Illinois, so this is a huge achievement!

To the students: your hard work, determination, and curiosity brought this honor to Highlands. Every time you asked a thoughtful question, helped a classmate, or pushed yourself to learn something new, you built the foundation for this achievement. You are proof that effort and kindness create excellence.

To the teachers and staff: your dedication is the heartbeat of this school. You inspire every child to reach higher, to believe in themselves, and to discover their strengths. You are shaping leaders, neighbors, and citizens who will carry these values throughout their lives.

To the families: your encouragement makes all the difference. You cheer at concerts and games, you help with homework, you show up for school events, and you remind your children every day that learning matters. This award belongs to you as well, because your support and partnership make Highlands a place where students thrive.

Congratulations, Highlands Hornets. You have made your community, your district, and your state proud.”

Rep. Nicole La Ha proudly serves the people of the 82nd District.
