La Ha: We must do better for IL families

State Representative Nicole La Ha joined fellow House members at a Thursday morning press conference in the Capitol Blue Room to decry supermajority democrats’ “wasted time and misplaced priorities” as legislators conclude week one of the two week Fall Veto Session.

“We showed up ready to work and ready to deliver solutions,” said La Ha. “Instead of focusing on any bills to make life easier for Illinois families, time was wasted on tasteless tactics. The House spent hours debating resolutions that offer no real solutions, no substantive policy changes, and no help for the families we represent. This kind of political grandstanding wastes both time and tax dollars.”

While the Illinois House spent hours debating resolutions criticizing the actions of the Trump Administration, no substantive legislation was debated nor passed by legislators this past week

“There are important needs from housing to healthcare to public safety to job creation, but instead Illinois Democrats spent limited time on performative politics,” La Ha continued. “We must change the misguided priorities on full display in the Illinois House this past week.”
