Public safety is a real concern across our state right now. I hear it from parents, police officers, teachers, and neighbors. People want to feel secure at home, at school, and on the road. That’s been my focus.
I introduced three bills that close dangerous gaps in our laws:
- HB1467 removes a loophole that let offenders claim they didn’t know they were exploiting a minor in prostitution. That defense should never stand.
- HB1468 makes it illegal to post personal information of first responders, prosecutors, or public defenders online with the intent to harass. These professionals deserve protection.
- HB1469 adds human traffickers and those convicted of involuntary servitude to the sex offender registry. If someone is exploiting others, they should be tracked.
I also co-sponsored bills that support law enforcement and school safety:
- HB3206 increases penalties for fleeing police during traffic stops.
- HB2551 reinstates the First Responders Suicide Task Force to improve mental health support.
- HB1583 creates a training program for retired officers who want to serve as school safety officers.
These bills reflect the priorities of our district: protecting children, backing law enforcement, and making sure survivors and public servants aren’t left behind. I’ll keep pushing for stronger laws and better support systems that make a real difference.

DuPage County Property Tax Panel

On Monday, September 29th from 6:00–8:00 PM, I’ll be at the Hinsdale Library (20 E Maple St) alongside Americans for Prosperity and local government officials to talk about something that affects every household: your property tax bill.
We’ll break down how your tax dollars are being used, what’s driving costs locally, and how Springfield’s unfunded mandates and red tape are making it harder, not easier, for our communities to thrive.
This is a chance to ask questions, share your concerns, and hear directly from those working to bring transparency and accountability to the process.

DuPage County Farm Bureau Friend of Agriculture

I was honored to receive the DuPage County Farm Bureau Friend of Agriculture Award.
Supporting our farmers and protecting Illinois agriculture is a responsibility I take seriously. It’s s the backbone of our communities and our economy.
A fun fact my son learned during the evening: 144 baseballs can be made from just one cowhide! He hasn’t stopped talking about it!
I’m grateful to the Farm Bureau for this recognition and for all the hardworking men and women who keep agriculture thriving in our state.

Illinois Municipal League Annual Conference

I was invited by the Illinois Municipal League to be a panelist at their Annual Conference, where I joined a full room of mayors and trustees from across our state to give a Statehouse briefing.
We had some truly thoughtful questions and meaningful conversations, all guided by IML’s Chief Executive Officer Brad Cole.
Thank you to everyone who shared their perspectives. It’s through these conversations that we build stronger partnerships and find better solutions for the people we serve.
