What Am I Doing to Help Working Families Thrive?

As your State Representative, I’ve cosponsored the entire Relief for Working Families legislative package because I believe Illinois families deserve action instead of more empty promises.

This comprehensive set of bills is designed to meet working families where they are, whether that’s at the dinner table balancing rising grocery costs, behind the counter relying on tips, or in classrooms and workshops training for high-paying careers. This package delivers real, tangible relief by expanding access to technical education, eliminating startup fees for small businesses, and helping tipped workers keep more of their earnings.

I joined my House Republican colleagues in championing these solutions because we need to grow our economy instead of burden it with more taxes and red tape. These bills reflect what I hear from constituents every day: they want opportunity and relief.

While Illinois Democrats blocked these measures during the spring session, I’m not backing down. I’ll continue fighting for this package when we reconvene in October because working families can’t afford to wait.

Thank you for a successful Senior Fair!

I’m so proud of the incredible turnout at our Senior Fair! It was heartwarming to see so many neighbors come together to connect with resources, enjoy good company, and celebrate the strength of our senior community.

Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success. You’re what makes our district so special!

DuPage County Property Tax Panel September 29th

On Monday, September 29th from 6:00–8:00 PM, I will be at the Hinsdale Library (20 E Maple St) alongside Americans for Prosperity and local government officials to talk about something that affects every household: your property tax bill.

We’ll break down how your tax dollars are being used, what’s driving costs locally, and how Springfield’s unfunded mandates and red tape are making it harder, not easier, for our communities to thrive.

This is a chance to ask questions, share your concerns, and hear directly from those working to bring transparency and accountability to the process.

Supporting Homeless Students

Far too many children in Illinois face the heartbreaking challenge of homelessness, over 47,000 students last year alone. That’s why I introduced House Bill 3377, which was passed unanimously by both chambers this spring and recently signed into law.

This is a transparency bill that requires school districts to report how much funding they receive to support homeless students and how those funds are being used. I was happy to talk to WNIJ / NPR Radio about this important topic. Every child deserves the stability and tools to succeed in school.

Curious about camping? A free Camping 101 event on October 5 walks folks through the basics—no gear or registration needed. On September 27, National Public Lands Day opens the site to everyone with games, music, canoe rides, and night hikes. As Camp Coordinator Brian Arnoldt puts it, “We want people to get away, just not far away.”
