State Representative Nicole La Ha recently appeared on WNIJ/NPR Radio to discuss HB3377, her bill which was recently signed into law to help homeless students. Following the airing of the interview, she released the following statement:
“Far too many children in Illinois face the heartbreaking challenge of homelessness, over 47,000 students last year alone. That’s why I introduced House Bill 3377, which was passed unanimously by both chambers this spring and recently signed into law. This is a transparency bill that requires school districts to report how much funding they receive to support homeless students and how those funds are being used.
I was happy to talk to WNIJ / NPR Radio about this important topic. Every child deserves the stability and tools to succeed in school.”
