State Representative Nicole La Ha released the following statement at the start of the second to last week of the scheduled spring legislative session:
“We’re back in Springfield today, kicking off the last two weeks of the spring legislative session. With only nine scheduled session days remaining before our May 31 adjournment, the clock is ticking on the state budget.
Despite the urgency, we have yet to see a budget proposal from our Democrat colleagues. To add to the challenge, the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget recently lowered revenue projections for FY26 by more than $500 million. Now more than ever, fiscal responsibility cannot be ignored.
I remain committed to standing for fiscal sanity. We will not negotiate a budget that includes ANY tax hikes.”
