Rep. La Ha Celebrates Grant Awards for Local School Libraries

Lemont, IL…State Representative Nicole La Ha is pleased to announce that multiple school libraries within her district have received grants for the Fiscal Year 2025 as part of the Illinois School Library Grant program. The awarded funds, totaling $10,297.61 for her district, will support library services for students from kindergarten to 12th grade, providing access to high-quality learning materials, books, and technological resources.

“Investing in our school libraries is an investment in our children’s futures,” Rep. La Ha said. “Libraries are the heart of our schools, inspiring curiosity and encouraging lifelong learning. These funds will make sure students in our district have the tools they need to explore, grow, and succeed.”

  • Burr Ridge (Community Consolidated School District 180): $850.00
  • Burr Ridge (Pleasantdale School District 107): $850.00

The Illinois School Library Grant program, administered by Secretary of State and State Librarian Alexi Giannoulias, distributed more than $1.3 million statewide to nearly 2,500 school libraries this year. The funding formula is based on $0.885 per enrolled student in schools with qualifying libraries and is supported by the General Revenue Fund appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly.

“Our libraries are spaces for discovery and exploration, where students can open their minds to new ideas and possibilities,” Rep. La Ha added. “I’m proud to see this funding go to our local schools.”

These grants will allow school libraries to enhance their collections, improve services, and bring in new programs to better serve the unique needs of students.

Rep. La Ha proudly serves the people of the 82nd District.
