State Representative Nicole La Ha released the following statement after yesterday’s politically-motivated resolutions issues by House Democrats:
“For weeks, the General Assembly has been in session with the opportunity to pass legislation that could truly make a difference—bills to lower costs, improve public safety, and provide relief to hardworking Illinois families. But instead of prioritizing meaningful solutions, the majority party has chosen to focus on political resolutions like HR115-119 that do nothing to address the real issues our constituents face.
I came here to serve the people, not to engage in political theater. Our communities deserve action, not distractions. Democrats’ continual calling out of specific names, including my own, calling Republicans fascists, and other over-the-top rhetoric on the House floor last night is not respectful of the offices we hold or the sacred public trust we share.
House Republicans are united in our willingness to work on real solutions for the tough problems our state faces. It’s time for the majority to do the same.”
Rep. La Ha proudly serves the people of the 82nd District.
