Lemont, IL…This past Wednesday, State Representative Nicole La Ha (R-Lemont) hosted a Youth Advisory Council on behalf of Senator Dan McConchie at the Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich. Local high school students gathered to share their ideas, ask questions, and have a conversation with their elected officials about issues that matter to them.
“I was grateful for the opportunity to host a Youth Advisory Council this past Wednesday,” Rep. La Ha said. “A big thank you to everyone who participated! It was wonderful hearing all of the terrific feedback. This kind of communication with the people we serve is my favorite part of being your State Representative!”
The students offered thoughtful insights on topics like education, community engagement, and how local leaders can better connect with young people. Rep. La Ha encouraged the students to stay engaged and shared how much they valued hearing from the next generation.
“This kind of event really energizes me,” La Ha said. “These students are so insightful and engaged, and their perspectives challenge us to think differently. It’s an incredible reminder of why we do what we do.”
The Youth Advisory Council is part of an ongoing effort to encourage civic engagement and give young leaders a voice in government. Rep. La Ha’s participation shows her focus on staying connected to the community she serves, especially with young people who represent the future of Illinois.
Rep. Nicole La Ha proudly serves the people of the 82nd District.
