Rep. Nicole La Ha Named a 2024 Edgar Fellow

Lemont, IL…State Representative Nicole La Ha was named a 2024 Edgar Fellow. Forty-one public policy leaders from across Illinois have been chosen to participate in this prestigious program, which strives to inspire collaboration and address the state’s major challenges.

Established by former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar in 2012, the Edgar Fellows Program brings together leaders from various backgrounds, including elected officials, non-profit leaders, and business influencers. This year’s class reflects Illinois’ diverse political, racial, ethnic, and geographic makeup and is set to participate in the Executive Leadership Training Program from August 4 through 8 on the University of Illinois (UI) campus in Urbana-Champaign.

“I am honored to be named a 2024 Edgar Fellow,” said Rep. La Ha. “This program has a proven track record of fostering collaboration and respect among Illinois leaders, regardless of their differences. I am confident that these Fellows and I will work together to shape a better Illinois for all its residents.”

Throughout their time in Champaign, the new Fellows will engage with experienced practitioners in various public policy issues, including artificial intelligence, workforce development, climate change, and Medicaid. They will also have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with their peers and establish a network of support that will benefit them in their future work.

Following the training seminar, Fellows will continue to meet at alumni gatherings and the program’s annual fundraiser in Chicago on September 12. This event is open to the public and looks to support the program’s mission of promoting ethical and competent leadership in Illinois.
