Rep. Nicole La Ha attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Athens Park in Lemont.
“Congratulations Lemont Park District!” Rep. Nicole La Ha said. “It was exciting to see the plans for this beautiful project! I was happy to be there to celebrate the official groundbreaking!”
The park will feature a playground, dog park, an outdoor entertainment space, large parking lot, walking and biking path, pavilions, naturalized wetlands, pollinator garden, device charging stations and a history plaza.
The park is slated to open in early 2025.
The project is a partnership between the Lemont Park District, Village of Lemont and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.
